The second cycle of HerMeNow accelerator culminated in an amazing retreat in Dubai for our Women Entrepreneurs
We are delighted to declare that the second cycle of HerMeNow, an inspiring accelerator program aimed at supporting the development of women social entrepreneurs in the MENA and Africa areas, has come to a successful end. During the accelerator program, thirty outstanding teams of women entrepreneurs set off on a life-changing adventure that culminated in an amazing retreat that took place in Dubai.
Participants in the voyage polished their company strategies and honed their talents throughout intense bootcamp training sessions. Ten of these teams were chosen to move on to the accelerator phase, where they received specialized training, individualized mentoring, and a $2000 USD funding each to invest in the capacity building of their businesses.
This cycle was unique in that it was entirely online, enabling participation from many locations such as Egypt, Lebanon, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania. The program encouraged the entrepreneur to work together and develop a strong sense of community despite their geographical distance.
The program's high point was an in-person, one-week retreat in Dubai where teams participated in courses centered around social media branding, design, and networking. Highlights included a pitching demo day event, arranged in association with Atolye and Bloom.pm, where teams presented their creative green social enterprises, and a workshop led by seasoned business skills and development trainer Mr. Andre Abi Awad.
On the last day of the retreat, participants gathered for a peaceful meditation session, thinking back on their journey and the priceless relationships they had built. HerMeNow founder Natacha Fazal Karim and the HerMeNow team organized a celebration dinner to round off the evening and recognize everyone's hard work and dedication.
